Our Process - How we help our clients

Is getting organized something that you’ve always wanted to do? Well if you are reading this, there’s no better time than now! As you may know we are Balance Home Organizing. A team founded on the vision of making each home balanced, functional and beautiful at the same time. We are passionate in showing our clients how to achieve and maintain organized living. It may seem daunting. We understand. But that is why we are here to help! In this excerpt, we will discuss the process, starting with you booking a consultation to organizing. You’ll want to wait till the end. The before and after photos are a vision to see. 

I want to congratulate you! You have achieved the first step in getting organized. And that is finding our website. Once here it’s fairly straight forward. I want you to decide what area of your home needs the most help? If you need it all, that’s more than okay! We are here to help with all of your organizing goals. The size of the space and the amount of stuff to go through will determine the amount of days our team will be there. But it’s highly important that you feel comfortable and ready to make some hard decisions. Our team are compassionate, unbiased individuals. They emphasize with you and understand why we form certain attachments to things. There is never any judgment, solely the desire to meet your goals and make your home balanced, functional and beautiful. Once you have decided on the space or spaces you will schedule a virtual consultation with our owner Megan.

In this consultation you will show us the space in need of a refresh. You will talk about your desires for the space. For example, you need help with your closet Your goal could be to have a functional space and items off the floor. You’ll talk about the length of the project and pricing as well. If the fit is right then you and Megan will come up with a game plan and schedule a day or days for our team to come out and get you organized!Now the exciting part! The day has come and our team is coming to your home. What should you expect? Our team varies in number so depending on the extent of the project. Two or more of us could be helping you on this journey. We will always inform you on those details. We bring everything that we will need. 

1. Walk through/discuss your goals: We will begin by looking at the space or spaces that we are going to be working on and talk about your goals.

2. Clearing and categorizing: Once we have established that we will get to clearing out the space. As we are doing this we will be categorizing every item. Laying out every item into categories allows our clients to see the amount of things that they have and if they have duplicates or worn out items that should be recycled. 

3. Purging: After we have sorted everything, we will go through every item with you. We will make piles including keep, donated, trash and memorabilia. Purging is the most difficult part of the process. It can be difficult to get rid of things, but our team understands and is sympathetic to you. (If you have not read our blog on purging. It’s a great article to get you motivated. We would highly recommend reading that.) As a side note, we always inform the client that they can be part of the process as much as they would like. If you would like to go through things with us, we are happy to have you there. But if it’s easier if we sort and ask questions as we go, that works for us too. Understand that you will have to be present along the way. We will need to ask you questions throughout the process. Especially when we get to purging. 

4. Brianstorm: After the purging is completed we will brainstorm how we are going to store everything. We will always ask you your preference and give you multiple options on how we would do it. 

5. Store: After we have come up with a design we will begin to house all of the items (reusing bins and baskets you have or purchasing new organizers if desired). 

6. Labels/final touches: The last step is to add the final touches: we add labels and make sure everything is functional and aesthetically pleasing. 

Before we complete the project we always run through the space with you. Allowing you to see where everything is housed and making sure that the organization works for you. If any tweaking needs to happen we are more than happy to do so. And just like that you have successfully organized your space! Again, it can feel daunting, but we are here to help. The hardest part is getting started. After that just trust the process. You won’t be disappointed with the results.
